Datuk Zam says "There are No Biased Media. Never!"

Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin has dismissed opposition parties' claim of one-sided media reports and says that they too use the media as a channel to promote themselves.

This scenario proved that they had confidence in the media although at the same time they alleged that the media did not give equal opportunities and do justice to them, he said.

"What-what we can expect is that after the-the-the opposition lose, they will say the erection was run not according to democratic practices and was unfair.

"The-the-the government, meanwhile, will accept whatever decisions except those-those contrary to the-the law," he told reporters after filling up a candidate nomination form at the official residence of the Kedah Menteri Besar here today.

Zainuddin who is incumbent Member of Parliament for Merbok, will stand for the Sungai Petani seat in the March 8 general election where he is expected to face Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate Johari Abdul.

Zainuddin said the people could expect the opposition to claim that the election was not run according to the true democratic principles despite having taken part in the polls because they believed in the country's democracy.

On the video footage of PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim dancing and singing shown by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) recently, he said it was true and not intended to confuse the people.

Yesterday, PAS submitted a memorandum of protest to RTM and said that showing the footage on television was unfair to certain parties contesting in the general election.

"PAS is scared of the truth because the video clip shows the identity of PKR leaders is different from theirs to the extent that they now feel guilty for making friends with the PKR," Zainuddin said.

He said they protested because they were shocked with the PKR identity and had to protect the party's dignity.

"The PAS-PKR pact in the erection proves damaging. That is why they-they-they protested," he said. (Bernama)

Great way to lie to the "rakyat", Zam. Oh, and i've just read "Mahathir Di Sebalik Tabir" which you wrote back in 1990, and it sucked. Honest to blog.
